Town Looking for Signings in All Areas

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has admitted he is still looking for new signings this month to improve his squad at Portman Road all over the pitch.

Since the transfer window opened on New Years Day, the former Wolves, Sunderland, Millwall and Ireland boss has already signed defender Patrick Kisnorbo on loan for a month from Leeds, with striker David McGoldisk signing on a temporary deal from Nottingham Foeest until May, and forward Aaron McLean signing until the end of the season from Hull City shortly after.

Despite having already been very active during the window, Banrley born McCarthy said he was far from finished improving the Town squad: “Oh yes, we’re still looking – in all areas. 

"We’re still trying to do a permanent deal with DJ. They might want to keep him – let’s discuss that and get that out of the way first. If they don’t want him then we can speak to them about it.

“In David McGoldrick and Aaron McLean we’ve got two quality players for Championship level. It means somebody has to sit on the bench or sit in the stands, but there’s one thing worse than having too many options and that’s not having any. We need striking options.”
