Wolves Striker Set to Sign

Reports are this morning claiming that Ipswich Town could be set to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Frank Nouble.

According to the reports Town have already agreed a fee with the Midlands club offering the former West Ham United forward an 18 month contract. The player is believed to be at Portman Road this mroning undergoing a medical, with a move to be confirmed in 24 hours should everything to to plan.

The 21 year old marksman came through the ranks at London side Chelsea, before rejecting a professional deal at Stamford Bridge in 2009 to take up an offer of a long term contract at West Ham, with the fee agreed for the transfer of registration being undisclosed.

The Lewisham born marksman was unable to force his way into the Hammers first team reckoning however and therefore went out on no less than seven loan spells in his three years at Upton Park as he looked to get some valuable first team experience to try and push for a place in the side of his parent club.

At the end of the 2011/2012 season West Ham admitted they would not be renewing the players contract after not fulfilling his potential at the club and therefore Nouble became a free agent in May 2012, signing a two year contract with Wolves the following month.

Nouble has however found it hard to break into the Wolves side and since joining in the summer has started just one game, in the League Cup, having appeared in a further two games in the competition as sub, scoring one goal. Nouble also has came on as sub in the league twice.

Nouble, who turns 22 in September, has also represented England at under 17 level on one occasion and nine times at under 19 level, scoring twice with both goals coming in the 3–2 defeat of Austria in the European Under-19 Championships.

Update: Since this article went to press, Nouble has signed for Town.
