Drogba's Efforts Prevent Shrewsbury Upset

An early second half goal from the legendary Didier Drogba looked set to send Chelsea through to the last eight of the Capital One Cup, but a thoroughly deserved Shrewsbury equaliser from Mangan left this pulsating cup tie back in the balance again. Fortunately a combination of a lethal cross from the substitute Willian and the menacing presence of Drogs provoked a late own goal which just about did enough to send a far from convincing Chelsea through to the quarter finals.

 As a consequence, Chelsea now take their unbeaten start to the season into November, which is no mean achievement. However, if 2010 and 2012 are anything to go by, naughty November has sometimes been the undoing of west London's finest. Hopefully this current squad are way too well equipped to suffer any meltdown in the penultimate month of the year. At least we can summon the services of our rested players for Saturday's challenge at home to the neighbours Queer Park Rangers. Bring it on, and show them no mercy!
