Reprieve for the Shaymen?

Boston United are under an FA investigation after it was alleged that the players have been receiving irregular payments.

The FA, who have raided the stadium at York Street as well as the home of some of the players have indicated that if they find any wrong-doing then the Lincolnshire club might be kicked straight back out of the Football League.

What would this mean to the Shaymen?

Well, the FA have two choices.

They can either kick out Boston United and allow Halifax Town their place back in the 3rd Division. Or they might deduct Boston United league points which it seems is more likely to happen.

This would be disastrous for the Pilgrims because they only won the league on goal difference. This would mean that any deduction of points would hand the place in the Football League to Dagenham and Redbridge.

I am not getting excited about this news. Too many times in the past we have been left holding on for some good news. But I don't think getting our League place back now would do us any good. Not with the mess we are currently in.
