Some rule changes were discussed at the League AGM

Conference Rule Changes

At the Conference AGM, there were so rule changes discussed. They will more than likely be adopted in time for the start of the new season in August.

Squads

From next season all players will be given squad numbers and all players will have their names on the back of the shirts. This will give the teams higher profile like the league teams already do especially with live Sky games.

Match Balls

Mitre will sponsor the match balls next season and have produced a new ball for the Conference, the ISO Conference Ball. This will be designed to be more accurate and faster when shot than before. Yellow balls will be used during bad weather.

Play-Offs

If the FA (don't they mean Football League? - Ed) give the go ahead for a further promotion place at a meeting shortly then the Conference will introduce play off with the 2nd playing the 5th and the 3rd versus the 4th place team. if a team does not fulfil the Football League criteria then their opponents will be given a bye to the play off final.

FA-Trophy

It is been considered to move the Final of this trophy forward to allow for next seasons Play Offs. This is dependent on a extra promotion place.

New Boots

All professional registered players in the Conference are to be given a free pair of boots by Mitre plus all Keepers are to be given a pair of Pro Punch Gloves by Mitre.
