Millionaire Businessman In For Town?

The consortium is headed by a businessman from Huddersfield who has recently moved his company across the Irish sea to County Donegal.

Bob Walker has also confirmed his intentions to be part of this consortium that not only wants the football club but it also wants the stadium and sometime in the future the rugby club as well.

Mr Michael Lloyd, the millionaire, has said he has no intentions of making money out of the clubs. It seems he has seen both clubs deteriorate over the last few years and wants to try and turn around the fortunes of the clubs.

Obviously if the take over is successful, their first moves will be to appoint a manager and bring in some players. But they have stated that finishing the stadium is high up their list of intentions because of the possible income the complete stand will bring in.

A clean sweep of the whole club is what is needed and in a way this is what has already happened. But where will this leave the Hall and Cairns consortium?

It is though that they only managed to come up with a total of about 75k, and with the Inland Revenue wanting an estimated minimum of 100k their bid will probably be rejected.

If Mr Lloyd and his group manage to buy the club, it does seem that Hall and Cairns will be no longer required as it looks as though Lloyd will bring in his own people to see the running of the club.

This takeover could also see the end of Jim Brown and David Greenwoods association with Halifax Town. Obviously if someone is coming into buy the club they will be wanting the shares as well. It is a well known fact that the gruesome two-some hold the majority shares of the club, but the takeover might just see the back of them.
