Uwe Rosler confirmed as Leeds Head Coach

Former Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has been confirmed as the new Leeds United Head Coach this afternoon, with Neil Redfearn being offered the chance to return to the academy.

Rosler has been appointed on a two-year contract, with the German calling the job "the chance of a lifetime." The former Manchester City centre forward becomes Cellino's fifth head coach since he took over the club and the fourth new appointment in the last 12 months. 

Adam Pearson, the club's Executive Director, confirmed that Redfearn had been offered his old job with the Academy, but it is unclear as to whether the fan favourite will accept this demotion away from the first team particularly following Cellino's threats to the academy in an interview last week.

The new Head Coach said he will be in charge of team selection, coaching and tactics and will "have some input" in the comings and goings of the club, hinting that transfers will firmly be in control of our esteemed leader.

Rosler stated that "the process happened so fast." He met Cellino and Pearson last week and the deal was done there and then. He is aiming for a top ten finish for the Whites, which seems rather optimistic giving this season's performance but pessimistic concerning Cellino's two-year promotion plan.

It's a shame to see Redfearn go, but we will have to judge Rosler by what he achieves on the pitch rather than on his employer. Hopefully he can take the club to great success.
