Preview: Town - Hull

STB brings you team news, manager previews, the officials and betting odds ahead of Towns game against Hull City tomorrow (KO 3:00pm).

Town are with out midfielder Owen Garvan but other then that have a full squad to choose from with two additions in the shape of Mark Noble and Simon Walton who should have completed their loan moves from West Ham and Charlton. Sam Parkin is left out of the squad while his future is sorted out.

 

Town squad: Dean Bowditch, Alex Bruce, Darren Currie, Jason De Vos, Nicky Forster, Daniel Harding, Danny Haynes, Alan Lee, Richard Naylor, Mark Noble, Jaime Peters, Lewis Price, Matt Richards, Luis Sito, Shane Supple, Simon Walton, Gavin Williams, Fabian Wilnis.

 

Town manager Jim Magilton: “They're (Mark and Simon) in the squad and I haven't brought them here to sit on the bench, we're glad to have them here and it adds to the competition we have in the squad now.

 

“I'm expecting a positive reaction from the other lads. I'm sure it will spur them on because they know that to be successful here, we have to have competition for places.

 

"Alan has benefited from playing last week, he missed a lot of pre-season and it can take a while to catch up.

 

“Gavin is the same. He played three games in a week after missing most of pre-season and it probably caught up with him at Leicester.”

 

 

Hull go into the game with out defender Damien Delaney who has a serious ankle injury and will be out for around three months while Nick Barmby could make a return to action after a good showing for Hull’s reserves in mid-week and Mark Yeates could make his debut after joining on-loan from Spurs.

 

Hull manager Phil Parkinson:  “Hopefully the game at Ipswich will be a chance for us to pick up our first three points, we've been working very hard towards that this week and the lads have been excellent in training.

 

“When you lose a game, it's always difficult to come in on a Monday. But to be fair, the lads have been bright since ten o'clock on Monday morning.

 

“I've been very pleased with the standard of training this week.

 

“We have a confident set of lads, they know that they are good players. But just like at any other club, if you go three games without a win, you want to get that first point on the board.

 

“My job as a manager is to make sure the lads don't become anxious and to keep them relaxed.

 

“I will keep the lads focussed on what they need to do to get a result and I'm sure we'll be fine.

 

“I should imagine Ipswich will be just as eager to get some points on the board as we are.

 

“They haven't had a fantastic start and they probably expected a lot better. But they will offer us a difficult game.

 

“But it is a game that I am more than confident we can get a result in.”
