Bent: I Owe Town

Former Town striker Darren Bent has thanked Town for their part in making him the player he now is.

Bent , who left Town in 2005 to join Charlton for £2.5 million has just joined Spurs from Charlton in a deal that could be worth £16.5 million and he says a lot of that is down to the time he spent at Town.

Bent: "I had a great upbringing in the game at Ipswich and the club is still very close to my heart, I couldn't have asked for a better education and start in the game than the one I got at Ipswich and I'm glad the club has prospered out of my move. I hope the money will help Ipswich get back in the Premiership."
