From The Sofa: Town 2-0 Bristol City

Welcome back to my sofa. It’s been a rough week for me but the unbeaten run continued for Town on Tuesday as they beat Crewe a goal to nil in the cup.

Having just been drawn away (yet again) to Millwall in the next round we turn our
attention back to the league and to Portman Road, playing host to Bristol City.

Jon Stead looks set to make his debut for the Robins today after his recent move from Town.

There are three changes for each team as we go into this match, Peters, Fullop and Scotland are in for Town and Stead, Pitman and Cisse are the 3 Changes for the Robins.

What the hell have SSN done with their screen, it's too small, I can't see the scores as they happen!

I zoned out thinking of events of the week passed, and I have to be honest that may well happen quite a bit and I have no idea what I missed.

Scotland, down the left from a throw, has won Town a corner, Leadbitter to take, O'Dea goes for it but Bristol City clear the line.

Foul by Smith on Pitman gives Bristol City a free kick, headed away by Leadbitter and the flags up with an Offside for the Robins and play stops.

My Alfie is staring at me which is putting me off as news comes in of our old Bam Bam putting Leeds ahead against Watford.

Scotland on goal, goes down at the edge of the Bristol City area giving Town a free kick. 11 minutes gone, Leadbitter takes, ohh off the crossbar!

The Crowd are backing the blues, enjoying the change in form this Season.

Another free kick to City is taken by McAllister, but Fullop rises and collects the incoming ball.

Lampard has missed yet another penalty for Chelsea, what a Burke!

Stewart and Townsend are currently receiving treatment I'm guessing for a clash of heads, the home crowd boo Stewart as he rises to his feet, the Town free kick is over hit by O'Dea.

Leadbitter has won a second corner for the home team, he curls the ball in to be headed over by Smith.

Scotland plays forward to Edwards, back to Scotland who goes for goal but hits wide.

Stead brings an attack on the Town goal, but it fizzles out.

Scotland and O'Dea are both making thier home debut today and sound keen to impress those paying thier wages.

We're half way through the first half with no goals yet but plenty of promise.

Leadbitter on half way begins attack on goal, team work brings it to Priskin to shoot with the right foot, it doesn't work.

Bristol and Stead are attacking Town but Fullop remains behind the ball.

A free kick to Town when Adomah brings down Peters, Leadbitter, into the box, McAuley tries but fails.

Just over 15 minutes left of the first half and Bristol break leading to thier first corner, headed away by Peters, but its back with Bristol, Pitman holds, Steads on it, it comes to nothing.

Priskin from nowhere is attacking the visiting goal, David James is beaten again, but the finishing leaves much to be desired.

A couple of minutes have passed and Towns midfield are controlling the game, showing the fans exactly how and why this season is coming together.

I get distracted by my Jess smiling for the first time in a few days and have no idea what just happened with the footie but there were no goals or sending offs so no big deal.

Town come close to goal again with Scotland determined to prove his worth.

Norwich are a goal down from a Blackstock penalty for Forrest.

5 minutes until half time as Town defend, Peters clears but Bristol keep up the pressure.

As play relaxes from the consistent pace throughout the first half, I will be very surprised if the teams go in at half time anything other than even.

Norwich have got a goal back, as Jordan Rhodes' Huddersfield double their lead against Charlton.
Cisse brings the ball to Stead but it Can't be controlled giving Town another throw, and that's the end of the first 45

HAHA I've just seen Gary Lineker put Lionel Ritchie through a window, brilliant!

We're back for the second half, commentated by radio Suffolk making it possible for me to bring you this report from the sofa.

Town have been awarded a soft free kick with 3 minutes played of the second half, Leadbitter's ball headed away giving Edwards a throw, James spills the ball but a red shirt is close by to save the visitors from falling behind.

Whilst distracted a card was given but I don't know who to, following that Scotland beats James again but not the woodwork.

Blackpool are behind again from a Zamora goal for Fulham.

Out of nowhere Priskin scores his first home goal for the Tractor Boys after yet another blunder from the former England no.1, Town take the lead on the 59th minute.

Bristol City are looking for an Equaliser with Adomah trying to shake off Peters who is supported by Norris.

City on the attack, Fullop catches and holds the ball tightly to his chest.
Norris is down clutching his ankle as Adomah attacks the Town goal. The Town Physio is on as the attendance is announced as 19,011, after a few minutes Norris is back up to an applause. Town can not afford anymore injuries.

A second goal is needed for Town as The Robins continue to push forward.

Blackpool have pulled even from a Fulham own goal.

Town have their first corner of the second half in front of the Sir Bobby Robson stand but nothing develops.

McAlister takes a knock causing a break in play.

Ah they are going crazy on SSN, the reason being, Blackpool are suddenly ahead! from being behind, in a matter of minutes they have gone ahead scoring for themselves this time, OH Scotland has scored for Town, what happened there? The commentators are singing Praises to Priskin for his part in the second goal, with 15 minutes left the points are by no means in the bag yet, but keep it up Ipswich!

Liam Trotter has put Millwall ahead against Coventry as a second chance at a penalty kick for Chelsea is put away by Drogba to double their lead over Stoke.

O'Dea to Norris then Danny starts making a load of noise so I can't hear.

6 minutes to play, can Town hold on to a clean sheet? we will soon know.

O'Connor coming on for Town to replace Luke Hyam, as Hyam sprints off Keane signals for him to slow down, wasting time some?

Blackpools lead has diminished as Fulham get a second, can the newby's of the premier league keep a point?

3 minutes of the 90 left as a quiet Bristol City defend, Edwards is awarded a throw onto Priskin, Scotland wins Town a corner, Leadbitter plays short to Edwards, possession is lost for a Goal Kick to James.

Edwards wins Town another throw, headed away by a Robin as 3 minutes are added.

Ronan Murray is on for debutant Scotland who leaves the pitch to a very appreciative applause.

Yes Blackpool managed to keep hold of a point with the score remaining 2-2 at the final whistle.

A free kick to Bristol City 3-4 yards outside the area, Hunt knocks it in, away by Peters, back to The Robins to continue the attack for the remainder of the few seconds before the final whistle is blown.

Going into the international break and finishing the first month of the 10/11 campaign Town remain unbeaten with a fantastic 10 points out of 12, surely there can't be anything to complain about today.

Leadbitter, Edwards, Priskin, Scotland and Peters certainly sounded like stand out players today, however full credit to the team as a whole, obviously not being there I can only know what I am hearing but I like what I'm hearing

Final score: Ipswich Town 2-0 Bristol City

These 3 points leave Town sitting in third place in the league table, joint top with QPR and Cardiff and a +5 goal difference.

We're now off into the international break, I have to be honest I don't know when our next game is but one thing I do know is that whenever it comes around, I'll be here, on my sofa giving my two pennies.
