Naylor: I’m Still Improving

Ipswich Town defender Richard Naylor has said he is “happy with the way I am playing right now.” but admits there is still room for improvement from him.

The 27 year who is starting his 10th season at Portman road since making raising though the youth ranks has played most of professional career as a forward but now spends his time in the centre of the town defence along side Jason De Vos and that is where he sees his career from now on.

Naylor has said that: “There is still more to come and room for improvement, but I have to be happy with the way I am playing right now.

“We are defending solidly and if my slip against Cardiff is my only one of the season I shall be pleased.

“I set out to learn quickly with summer signing Jason De Vos and we are forming a good central defensive partnership. We both have our strengths and we work well as a pair.

“There is no doubt that defence is my position now. My days as a utility player appear to be gone, and I can only see myself playing up front again in an emergency.”.
