Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks has not ruled out a return to Portman Road for Ipswich Town legend Sir Bobby Robson.

Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks has not ruled out a return to Portman Road for Ipswich Town legend Sir Bobby Robson.

Sir Robson who was sacked by Newcastle united last week, enjoyed 13 years as Ipswich manager bringing more success to Portman road than any one else winning 5 trophies and a number of runner up positions as well before going on to manage England, bring the national side the most success since winning the world cup in 1966.

Mr Sheepshanks has said: “No I am not ruling it out but I am not ruling it in either, I have thought about it and I'm sure the supporters here have had the same thoughts.

“I would imagine Bobby will be weighing up all sorts of opportunities and there have been reports of FA interest as well.

“There would be many factors to take into consideration and I'm sure we will think about it again and if one day it was appropriate, then wouldn't it be lovely.”.

Sir Bobby is immortalised in a bronze statue on Portman road and on our very own 2005 calendar which can be bought in our shop.
