McCall Wants Bounce Back

Ipswich Town coach Steve McCall wants Town to bounce back from Tuesday nights 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at Doncaster, with a win against Plymouth on Saturday.

McCall who won the UEFA cup with Ipswich and played for Plymouth for two years and was also on the coaching staff at home park until October 2000 when he was shipped out to make way for Paul Sturrock.

McCall knows Town will have to raise their game to beat the pilgrims who after a good start to life in the coca cola championship are starting slip on their travels.

McCall has said: “We know we let ourselves down on Tuesday and we will be looking to put that right.

“We were disappointed with the team effort. We had a lot of possession but not many chances and we are looking to bounce back on Saturday. We will need to improve our finishing, work rate and quality of passing to beat Plymouth.

“They are all about togetherness and team work and that is important.

“They are finding it tougher to find goals but that is key as you go up divisions. Chances come thick and fast lower down the divisions and as you come up teams are stronger defensively and when you are not sticking them away they are being punished.”.
