Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has today said there is money at Ipswich for a loan player to bought in to Portman Road, for a month.

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has today said there is money at Ipswich for a loan player to bought in to Portman Road.

Royle currently has a squad made up of just 15 out field players and two goalkeepers with first team experience, the rest are players promoted from Town academy to help replace the 8 players that left Portman road in the summer.

Royle has already used one loan signing this season, Tony Dinning joining on a two month loan from Wigan Athletic and after he returns to Wigan after Sundays game with Coventry Royle will be able to bring some one in to replace him.

Royle has said: “There is cash in the kitty to bring in one player for one month and I'll be thinking it through in the next couple of weeks.

“We will not just go out and make a loan signing for the sake of it. It is about assessing things and deciding if there is a particular need in a specific area of the team.

“Basically, we are operating on 15 outfield players and two keepers. It's not a lot, but we have done well so far and we need to consider very carefully any moves in the loan market.

“We only have a limited sum of money to spend and it is essential that we spend it wisely.”.

Town Chairman David Sheepshanks added: “There is loan money available and after Sunday's match at Coventry we have a break when the manager will be looking at the situation.”.
