Leicester City defender Matt Heath scored twice at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday night as Ipswich Town and Leicester City battled out a 2-2 draw.

Leicester City defender Matt Heath scored twice at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday night as Ipswich Town and Leicester City battled out a 2-2 draw.

Ian Westlake gave Town the lead after just 51 seconds chipping the ball over Kevin Pressman after Pressman only punched away Darren Bent’s effort.

David Connolly bought the foxes level after 34 minutes, converting Jamie Scowcroft’s pass to make it 1-1 going into half time.

Leicester came out the better of the two teams after the break and their performance was topped with a goal by Matt Heath in the 59th minute, Jamie Scowcroft again the provider Heath just hitting the with his left foot into the goal to give Leicester the lead.

It was then Town’s turn to put the pressure on Pablo Couñago came on for Jim Magilton as Town went 4-3-3 in search of a goal which did come, two in fact in the last 5 minutes although only one counted.

Shefki Kuqi had the ball in the net in the 87th minute but the referee, who was from Lancashire ruled it out for a push of Foxes keeper Pressman, how ever three minutes later Town got the goal they deserved, Matt Heath appeared to be trying to score when headed in Kevin Horlock’s corner in the 90th minute.

Town move to 4th in the coca cola football league championship four points behind leaders Wigan and one point behind second place Reading.
