Ipswich Town duo Jason De Vos and Jim Magilton have warned that Town’s leaky defence could cost the team dear if its not sorted out soon.

De Vos: “We must fix the problem, and do it very quickly, if not we will fall away. If we defend set-pieces like we did on Saturday we will not hold any team. Guys are assigned to mark certain players at corners and free-kicks, but it doesn't always happen.

“We are creating chances - and scoring good goals - but we have got to tighten up at the back. We shot ourselves in the foot yet again and lost two points on Saturday that might prove crucial at the end of the season.”

Magilton: “It looks as though we have got to score more goals than any other team to win games.

“This is not right. The same happened last season, and the manager brought in Jason De Vos. He has done well, but we are still conceding too many goals. We should have shut up shop at 2-0, and it is very frustrating.

“If you defend like we did at set pieces you will suffer at any level.”
