Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has praised Town striker Darren Bent after his two goals saw Ipswich come away with 3 points from Burnley.

Royle: “Darren has taken a while to get going in front of goal this season but he certainly showed his goalscoring instincts today, his first goal was a cool finish and his second one was a cracking shot that I don't think two 'keepers would have saved. I can't wait to see it on the TV and it was a goal good enough to win any game.

“His general play has been excellent anyway but that takes him to seven goals as well which is a decent return.

2Overall it was a functional performance from the team rather than spectacular but our 'keeper didn't really have anything to do in the second-half.

“We ground out the win I would say but three points are always welcome and with Wigan losing as well, it's been a good day for us.”
