Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent was uncertain that his goal against Leeds United yesterday would stand.

Bent’s goal in the 51st minute was enough to see Town continue their unbeaten run for an 11th game and keep up the undefeated home record, but Bent wouldn’t of been surprised if his goal had been ruled out by the referee.

Bent: “Sometimes you get those decisions go for you and sometimes you don't, I looked towards the linesman when the ball went in the net because I wasn't sure it would stand.

“Shefki had a goal disallowed at Leicester a few weeks back and that wasn't as close as my one.

“The gaffa always tells me I don't score enough of those scrappy goals I think it hit both shins before it went in but they all count and I was delighted it proved to be the winner.”
