Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie is delighted with the way his Town debut went earlier today.

The 30 year old midfielder replaced Kevin Horlock in the 55th minute and during his 35 minutes on the pitch he scored one and had hand in another, and Darren is calling today the best day of his career.

Darren: “I have waited a long time to play at this level and that was definitely the best day of my career, it has been a hectic few days but I couldn't wait to get out there and play and the game couldn't have gone any better for me.

“It was nice to get on the scoresheet. I hit the ball well enough and it just took a slight deflection to take it away from the goalkeeper.

“I scored for Brighton against them (QPR) as well so they are proving a bit of a lucky club for me, I was a mascot a few times when my uncle was at Rangers and followed them when I was growing up.

“But the most important thing was the three points and I think we deserved them in the end. We stepped it up in the second-half and I'm just glad to have played my part.”
