Ipswich Town are in talks with premiership champions Arsenal about the possibility of extending Danny Karbassiyoon's loan stay.

The 20-year-old was recruited as cover for Drissa Diallo who is out with a hamstring injury and his current loan expires next week but Town are keen on extending his stay for another two months.

Town manager Joe Royle: “Danny's with us for another week anyway but we are talking to Arsenal about keeping him here longer, hopefully for another two months, he's had a good start and we're very pleased with him. We took him in a little bit blind in a way, although we'd seen him in the reserves for Arsenal and he'd done pretty well.

“His performance against Bolton was a step up fitness wise on his showing against Plymouth and he's looking comfortable within the squad.”
