Ipswich Town target Daryl Murphy has signed a new deal with his current club, Irish side Waterford United.

The 21-year-old striker was on trial at Portman Road just before Christmas but had to return to Ireland early after picking up a groin strain but is due back at Portman Road for a second crack at getting a contract offer from Town.

His new contract will take up to the end of the 2006 Irish league season but its believed he wants a move to England before the start of the 2005 season in March.

An Ireland under 21 international scored 4 Premier Division goals, and 22 in all competitions is regarded as one of the hottest talents in Irish football.
