Stewart Wants Town Up

Former Ipswich Town striker Marcus Stewart is hoping that both Sunderland and Town gain promotion this season.

The former Town marksman is Sunderland’s leading scorer this season with 15 goals in competitions for the black cats and he is hoping Ipswich go up along with his Sunderland team.

Stewart: “I'm still hoping it's Ipswich that goes up with us, although when we've already gone up.

“This game was always going to be important for both teams but after their result on Monday it's probably paramount for Ipswich to get a result on Sunday, more so than for ourselves.

“If we can win the next two games then that's us up and I sincerely hope Ipswich come up with us. They have so many good young players who deserve to be in the Premiership.

“There's still a long way to go really and there could still be some twists and turns, but I feel if we can win two more games we'll be safe.”
