Ipswich Town’s under18 side booked their place in the FA Youth Cup Final after a 1-2 (1-4 AGG) win against the spurs U18 side last night.

It took 18 minutes for either side to get a shot on goal, Owen Garvan jumping above the Spurs defence to head Liam Craig’s free-kick goal wards but it lacked power and was easily held by Forecast in the spurs goal.

It was Town on the attack next with Billy Clarke being met by Forecast who came running out to meet him.

Spurs came close to scoring in the next few minutes, O'Hara's free-kick was scrambled away by the Town defence, minutes later Maghoma fired wide from 25 yards.

Cathal Lordan came close to scoring the opening goal sending a free-kick just wide after Clarke had been fouled just out side the box.

Town started the second half very brightly with Liam Trotter having a shot deflected out for a corner which resulted in Garvan having a header cleared off the line.

Spurs took the lead after 62 minutes when Simon Dawkins headed in a spurs corner to make it 1-0 on the night to spurs but 2-1 to Town on aggregate. Town replied to that goal with a goal of their own , Garvan lifting the ball over the spurs back line for Trotter to run onto and score, making 1-1 on the night 3-1 on aggregate.

With less than 5 minutes to go the Town youngsters sealed the win with a second goal when Aidan Collins heading in Craig’s free kick to give Town a 2-1 lead on the night and 4-1 lead over all.
