Royle Rates Shane

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle believes it is time for Town’s 3rd choice goalkeeper Shane Supple to be pushing for the first team.

Supple put in an impressive display for Town’s youth side in their FA Youth cup final first leg game against Southampton last night and that has prompted Royle to tip him for better things.

Royle: “I remember when I first arrived at the club and Shane was just a dot at the time. The jersey was too big for him.

“But now I look at him and he has all the attributes to be a top-class keeper. It is now time for him to be challenging Kelvin and Lewis for a place in the first-team squad.”
