De Vos Backs Pablo

Ipswich Town defender Jason De Vos has given his backing to Ipswich Town striker Pablo Couñago.

Couñago is set to leave Town in the summer and search for a new club in his native Spain but De Vos believes the 25-year-old can still make an impact for Town this year.

De Vos: “Pablo is a real handful to play against - and you only have to ask Ipswich defenders who face him in training every week.

“When he is in the mood like he was on Sunday he can make a big impact on any game.”

But De Vos wont criticise Town manager Joe Royle for not picking Pablo earlier in the season, adding: “To criticise the manager at this stage of the season would be very harsh. He has done a magnificent job to steer us to third place in the table on a very limited budget.”
