On-loan Blackburn Rovers defender Jay McEveley is confident he will be fit to play against Southampton tomorrow.

The defender made his Town debut against Sheffield United on Saturday but in the process picked up a foot injury, but he feels he should be ok to play against the saints.

Jay: “It's improving and I'm fairly confident I will be okay for Tuesday.

“It was bad enough on Saturday and there was a lump the size of an egg on my foot but I've iced and rested it over the two days.

“The bruising has come out now and that's a good sign. I will probably need to strap it up but hopefully I will be clear to play against Southampton.”
