Town To Be Fined?

Ipswich Town could be fined by the FA after an incident of a whistle being heard from the crowd was reported by the referee.
A whistle was heard from the crowd during Sunday’s East Anglian derby against
Town Chief Executive Derek Bowden: “The FA will no doubt take some sort of action. That could be a written warning, as we have not suffered this before, or it could well be a fine.
“The person has not been caught but we will be viewing CCTV. The stewards will be briefed before the next game to be vigilant for this but we would also appeal to out fans to act if they see the person responsible.
“We would ask them to stop ‘em or shop ‘em to ensure there is no repeat. It was a particularly stupid thing to do and, the thing is it could work against our own team. If they were to stop and the forward goes on and scores it would be to our detriment.”
