Mahon Linked

Former Ipswich Town loanee Alan Mahon is now being linked with a loan move back to Portman Road from Wigan.

The 27-year-old midfielder spent time on-loan at Town in the 2003/2004 season and got one goal in his 7 starts during that spell, injury cut short the loan spell and he was sold to Wigan later that season.

 

Mahon featured in Wigan’s first three premiership games but hasn’t featured since and reports are suggesting that Wigan manager Paul Jewell is prepared to let him go out on-loan.

 

Town manager Joe Royle: “We are aware of the Mahon situation and he did very well for us when he was here last time and someone I have asked about in the past.”

 

Tottenham manager Martin Jol is also prepared to let some of his surplus midfielders go out on-loan, Royle added: “We have done our homework, and more, so we know what is happening there.”

 

Well we did tell you yesterday that Mahon would probably be linked with us and now he has been.
