Ipswich Town midfielder Matt Richards has praised the contribution of Town striker Alan Lee in Town’s win against Burnley today.
Matt: “Alan Lee has made a big difference to us. He's a great lad off the pitch and on the pitch he's really hungry to play, he's holding the ball up well and his aerial presence is really good. He's scoring goals for us and has established himself as a really important member of the team.
“The gaffer said that it would be a difficult game and it certainly was.
“You always get the same from
“We competed very well and were really unfortunate to go in at half-time a goal down. Towards the end of the half we were in the ascendancy and Alan was really unlucky when he hit the post.
“The tactical change at half-time was necessary to get Bam Bam up front with Alan. It was hard on Westy because he was playing well.
“As for my penalty. I put my head down and just struck the ball. I'd decided which side to put it and although the 'keeper went the right way he didn't really stand a chance. That's three out of three and I'm delighted with that.”
