Ipswich Town have today landed Jamaican international Ricardo Fuller on-loan for a month from Southampton.
The 26-year-old was once one of the hottest properties outside the premiership when he had scored 27 goals in 58 games for Preston North End, in the summer of 2004 he joined Portsmouth and a year later he joined Southampton, since the arrival of former Town boss George Burley at St Mary’s Fuller has been unable to hold down a starting place.
Fuller will arrive at Portman Road tomorrow to sign the one month deal which will see him wear number 35 and be included in Town’s squad to face Wolves on Saturday.
Town manager Joe Royle: “Ricardo has agreed to join us and will be in the squad for our trip to Wolves, he is a player that we have kept in touch with for a while and with Alan Lee out for at least three weeks and our other injuries up front, we needed to bring someone in.
“It shows the ambition of the Club that we have found the finances to bring in a player that was playing Premiership football a year ago.”
