Young Ipswich Town striker Billy Clarke has been named as the young soccer player of 2005 by the Irish Examiner.

The 18-year-old has been on the fringes of the first team for most of the season but he did manage to make his full debut in the 2-2 draw with QPR in December.

Roy Keane, Damien Duff and Robbie Keane have all won the award in the past, Billy will be the latest name to join the list when he picks up his trophy in Dublin.
