Ipswich Town assistant manager Willie Donachie says the remaining five games of this season will be preparation for next year.
Town are now pretty much certain to be in the Championship next season as 6th placed Preston are 14 points ahead of them with just 15 points left to play for, so with the season pretty much over for Town Willie Donachie is preparing for next years promotion push.
Willie: “We've still got plenty to play for over the rest of the season. We want to finish as high up the table as we can, the players are professionals, they want to win every game and we're all keen to end the season on a high and set things going for next year.
“We've had a lot of good young players come through this year, which we love to see, and with the balance of experienced players we have as well, we can make a challenge for promotion next year.
“In many ways we will be in a better position at the start of next season than we were this year.
“At the end of last season we didn't know who was staying and who was going and on the summer tour the team was full of kids and that was scary because we know you need experience at this level.
“Now we have a squad in place that we feel positive about for next season, very positive.”
