Butler Gone

Tricky Winger Thomas Butler has officially left Hartlepool after months of speculation. It was thought by all Pools fans that if Pools went down he would go. Butler was linked with a number of clubs including Bradford, Barnsley, Bournemouth and then eventually Swansea City.

Butler's time at Pools was short but memorable. He was origionally signed in March 2005,from Sunderland, along side Steve Howey. After only 2 months with the club he was playing at Cardiff in the playoffs final but was taken off injured. During the pre-season of 2005-06 he signed a contract extension to keep him at the Vic.

Butler handed in a transfer request when Pools were relegated and he was free to talk to any other clubs. He was left out of Pools Dutch tour so he could sort his future out.

He played 44 games for the club managing to score 3 goals.
