Strachan suffers Leg Fracture

Just as it looked like the Hartlepool United injury list was starting to shorten, news arrives from the club about another injury. This time it's Gavin Strachan, who suffered a leg fracture during Saturday's game.

Strachan will be out for a minimum of six weeks according to the club, meaning that there's yet another injury blow in a season that has seen more than it's fair share. Only last week Strachan was talking about how good it was to be back in the first team; now, he faces a layoff until at least the middle of March. Desperate luck fro Strachan, and not good for Pools either - the Transfer Window closes in a few hours and there's no news on signings.

It has to be admitted though that we do at least we do have cover in midfield: Clark and Sweeney have become the established partnership in the centre with Strachan having to adapt to an unfamiliar role on the wing. It's possible that the likes of Darrell Clark and Lee Bullock may find opportunites to step back into the first team.

It's news Pools could still have done without though; having lost against Blackpool, we go into a crunch game at Rotherham missing yet another first team player.
