Da Costa released
By Andy Baggott
April 14 2008
Portugese winger Felipe Da Costa has been released by Leeds United. The wide man came with high expectations, but hardly featured. He played against Millwall and showed some nice touches, but was then sent off against Bury in the Johnson's Paint Trophy. A ban followed, and he never featured for the side again.
Dennis Wise said that he wasn't ready for English football, and tried to send him on loan - unfortunately there was little interest. Today's announcement is a bit dissapointing, as he looked to have a little bit of flair, but it was certainly no suprise...

he played a few times in the reserves but from what i've seen of him, he's not much a team player, bit of a glory hunter!
we're probably better off being shot of him!

If McAllister, Wise and Poyet who were three very good Premiership midfielders don't rate him then I trust their judgement.
See ya later, son. All the best floating around in the Greek third division or wherever you end up.

agree with that Lef - they see him day in and day out, and clearly don't rate him...

I saw him. He was total s hite.
Lots of fancy touches, no final ball. The tackle versuis Bury was a disgrace and lost us a game that we were coasting.

have often called for the lad to be given a chance but macca, wise, poyet, staunton etc havent rated him, no one wanted him on loan so guess it a good thing, hope sorsa turns out better, has looked decent in reserves and poss next season could be his chance. squad will need an overhaul whether we go up or not carrying a lot of deadwood

If he ends up finding a team in England will to play him he will do okay but I believe he will be back over to France or somewhere like that. No lose as he did not play for us at all.One game does not count.
