Leeds had a tricky tie on paper against Oldham in the first round of the FA Cup but the quality shone through and Leeds won 2-0 with goals from Howson and Grella.

For the first time, the clash was screened live on the FA Website.  Leeds were the better team in the first half and a wonder goal from Howson saw them go in at the break with a one goal advantage.

In the second half, Leeds sat back and allowed Oldham to play but they rarely threatened, forcing only one fantastic save from Ankergren with a deflected shot that was heading for the far post and in injury time, with Oldham pushing, it was for the two subs, White and Grella to tie up nicely resulting in the unmarked Grella cooly slotting hom from a few yeards out.

Oldham 0-2 Leeds and it is the Whites that will progress to the second round.
