Leeds defeat Brighton

Leeds cruised to victory over Brighton, and extended their lead at the top of League 1. A fairly even game turned Leeds' way, with a good finish by Robert Snodgrass, following good work by Neil Kilkenny and Jermaine Beckford. Leeds the took control, and looked capable of scoring at any moment - they did, Beckford finishing well from a superb 60 yard Kilkenny pass.

The second half never lived up to the first, with Brighton huffing and puffing for new manager Gus Poyet, but never really threatening - Leeds were happy to soak up the play, whilsty having another gear or two if needed.  Late on, the impressive Kilkenny got the goal his performance deserved, side footing home sub David Pruttons pass.

With most of the top 6 failing to win - Leeds are now 6 points clear of second, with a game in hand, whilst 9 points clear of third, also with a game in hand. 

Orient are the visitors tomorrow night as United look to stretch their lead at the top of the table...
