Leeds 1-0 Southampton

With Southampton coming to Elland Road unbeaten in 16 matches, it was always going to be a tough test for Leeds but one they dealt well with and took the full three points from the game.

In a match that say striker, Jermaine Beckford throw a mini-tantrum when he got substituted, Leeds ended up winning 1-0 following a clever turn and superb finish from the corner of box from Robert Snodgrass.

Leeds were limited in their chances but a superb defensive line at the back ensured Southamptn hardly had a shot all match.  It was a spirit performance from Leeds with with other results in League 1, they head in to Christmas on the top spot, four points clear of Charlton and with a game in hand.  They are 8 points clear of third place, again with a game in hand.
