Spurs v Leeds - preview
By Andy Baggott
January 21 2010
Leeds go into Saturdays FA Cup tie on the back of their worst run of form of the season. A draw at home to Wycombe, was follwed by defeats at Exeter and at home to Carlisle in the JPT. Hardly ideal preperation for the trip to a side aiming to gatecrash the 'big 4' this season.
However, Spurs themselves looked lacklustre last night at Liverpool, so both teams will go into the game looking to get their season back on track.
Leeds will be picking from strength, with key man Patrick Kisnorbo likely to return from a minor knock. Lucciano Becchio should also feature after sitting out Tuesdays defeat. Midfielder Doyle could replace Jonny Howson, who has been a bit out of touch recently. The rest of the team is likely to pick itself, with Bromby moving to right back to accomodate Kisnorbo - Crowe making way.
Spurs though do have injury problems. Ex Leeds player Aaron Lennon is out for a further 3 weeks, so will miss the chance to play his home town club. Similarly Jonathon Woodgate is (suprisingly!!) out injured, and will sit it out. Ledley King is unlikely to be risked after playing last night, so Leeds' chances may be made slightly easier. There are other Leeds links at White Hart Lane, Robbie Keane could play, although has played second fiddle to Crouch and Defore recently, whilst ex Leeds youth player Danny Rose hasn't really featured, despite the 'hype'.
