Leeds all quiet on the transfer front

Leeds have gone worryingly quiet on the transfer front as the fans wait the promised influx of new signings.  The only player signed up is Portsmouth centre back Jason Pearce, but no other deals have been forthcoming.

Boss Neil Warnock said he had expected a few players in by now, but despite several rumours (Ward, Halford, Derry, Kenny and Diouf to name but a few), there has been nothing...So why?  Again, rumours abound, ranging from no money, to possible takeover.

Warnock wants to have the new players in for pre season, so the next month should see huge movement - both in and out, but things really do need to start moving.  There is nothing coming out of Elland Road at all, with even the Chairman's weekly radio updates pulled for the summer.  Is there something going on in the background?  Possibly so, but what is anyone's guess...

How much did Bates pay for us? Was it 10 or 11 million? Nothing more than that. Surely if he sells now, We are worth more than twice that, even without Thorp Arch and Elland Road, which rumours persist that he owns them. If so, with all the buildings going on, they will bring him further profit. It is always said that he is an astute businessman. So he has an eye for a profitable bargain. Unless he sees more profit in holding on, he should be willing to sell. I pray everyday that he will have the profit he wants and just disappear from our world.
