Strong Start From Leeds - But can it be Maintaned?

Leeds United sealed another victory today to pick up another three points and put them on six from nine, despite a couple of tricky fixtures at the start of the campaign, but can they keep this form going without substantial further investment?

It's been a positive start for Leeds with good results and a high level of effort from the players, but will it be enough to carry Leeds through without new faces arriving at Elland Road? Warnock has built a good team and is getting the most out of every player, but is the first to admit that the current squad is not enough to challenge for promotion.
Leeds United have a small squad considering the number of inexperienced youngsters that have been named in the first team and injuries to a couple of key people (which will happen at some point this year) would effectively wipe out the season and could even see the team tumbling down the table. It isn't just a case of pushing for promotion; the team needs to be strong enough, and big enough to cope in this division.
The stumbling block is of course the much hyped take-over that as at the time of writing is still not completed and with time running out on the transfer deadline, it doesn't seem that will be an answer to the current squad problems. The loan window opens in September but how much clout the Yorkshire club will have, considering there is a rumoured shortage of cash is unknown.
It would seem Leeds United is on something of a knife edge at the moment. On one side, new owners, a cash injection, an experienced manager who has the nucleus of a great squad, the support of the fans and with a bit of financial support, could see us pushing for promotion back to the Premiership. On the other, further lack of investment, disillusioned fan base and a squad that could be one snapped ankle and one broken metatarsal away from a dog fight against relegation.

We are in a deep freeze as long as this charming man is running the club as far as a strategy for getting back to the promised land is concerned but make no mistake, it will take a miracle for this present squad to last the season consistantly challenging for promotion.
I am hoping that the first half versus Wolves does represent what this team is capable of in terms of dictating a match but yesterday's performance shows how much quality we lack in terms of indivuiduals being able to change a game.
I stood and pondered for a wee minute yesterday when we had Snodgrass, Gradel, Howson in the team and just what we could possibly have now if someone at the club would have had the vision and desire to build/invest in the team instead of wanting to further their own financial portfolio without any risk to themselves.
Two of those players if we are to believe them NEVER wanted to leave the club but their hands were forced if you like and left us fans in no doubt as to what the agenda of the owners of the club was.
My loathing of Bates is almost reaching its zenith!

Way too early to tell. We all get excited when we win and suicidal when we lose.
This isn't meant to be a negative post after 4 wins out of 5 and a few good performances but the only good team we have played is Blackpool....even Wolves didn't 'turn up'.
