Simon Grayson's search to find a replacement for Wes Hoolahan is still on going. With attention now turning to Lancashire rivals Oldham Athletic and there star man Chris Taylor. With a report in the Oldham Chronicle suggests that a number of clubs are intetrested in Taylor including Blackpool. Who according to the report were "the first to follow up their interest by testing Athletic’s resolve."
There's no news on how much the seasiders bid was, but it has been turned down. But with Wes's move away from the seaside; set to be confirmed before the end of the week, you can pretty much garuntee that the seasiders will be making yet another but improved bid.
Taylor although just aged 21, has already made 100 career appearances for Oldham. He currently has a contract; which will keep him at his home town club until 2010. But Oldham have conceded that if the right bid came along they would sell there man.
personally i reakon we should offer the wes money plus 40% of the next deal
Oldham owe us a few favours as we gave them Wellens - Edwards.
as i remember
United got 25k
Wellens got 20k loyalty owed
and the other 5k was used as a signing on fee for vernon.
this lad must be a good player if we're offering to splash the cash but like i said, the gazette has reported 500,000 as the asking price. out of our budget im afraid
