    With the distaste of the Henry incident still lingering in our throats, we now have a reason to smile again. The draw for the Euro 2012 Championships has looked upon us favourably. Being placed alongside Russia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Armenia and Andorra. Some might raise an eyebrow or two at the pairing with the memorable Macedonians, but surely this group is as good as we could have hoped for?

  • Look Ahead To Bulgaria Match WCQ

    We look ahead to this weekends World Cup Qualifier match against the men from Bulgaria. A mixed bag of news is coming in from the camp ahead of the game in relation to injuries, which no doubt will lead to a weakened selection by Giovanni Trapatoni.A win would put us top of the table, ahead of the Italians, even though the Italians would have a game at hand.We remain confident however of victory.

  • New Kids On The Block feature at Craven Cottage Stalemate

    Craven Cottage, home to Fulham F.C. was the arena for last nights International friendly between the ROI and Nigeria. The Irish manager decided to use it, as predicted, to test and view some new blood on the International scene. No less than six new caps were handed out and the lads did no harm to their ambitions for the first team for upcoming games, firstly against Bulgaria in a WCQ.

  • Republic Of Ireland Squad Announced For Upcoming Games

    18th May, today Republic manager Trapattoni announced his 25 man squad for the two upcoming games. Firstly at Craven Cottage, home to Fulham F.C., versus Nigeria in an International Friendaly on the 29th of May. 22 of these selected will then face Bulgaria in Sofia in the World Cup Qualifier fixture on the 6th of June.

    Republic of Ireland utility man, John O'Shea, added another medal to his collection today, winning the English Premier League Title with Manchester United. A man who doesnt star in the limelight as much as his more flamboyant counterparts, O'Shea has fast become Ireland's hottest defensive property. A quiet, reserved character which keeps him out of the media's sights as much as possible serves him well in his head down, work hard style.

He was speaking about the situation regarding Ireland's continued absence from the Irish International team and commented "'When Brian Clough was manager and was trying to get Archie Gemmill to sign, he slept on the sofa. I wouldn’t sleep on Stephen Ireland’s sofa but I’d sleep outside his house to try and get him back"
